Funding Convention

This year we're offering membership discounts, early registration discounts, and payment plans to help you pay for Convention in a way that works for you - and your budget.

We are also collaborating with the Gamma Rho Lambda Foundation to obtain corporate sponsorships. The additional income from business donations and increased registration rates has 2 great benefits:

  • 4 Days of Convention - An additional full day together is critical to building relationships and educating our members

  • National Budget - Moving Convention toward a self-funded event allows us to direct more of our national budget toward supporting our Chapters and Alum siblings

Risk Management Policies

All Convention attendees, including guests, are expected to follow all Convention policies, including NIC Alcohol & Drug Guidelines and Gamma Rho Lambda’s risk management guidelines.

  • While marijuana is legalized in Minnesota, the Sorority, all Chapters, members, and guests must follow the federal law regarding controlled substances.
  • No person may possess, use, provide, distribute, sell and/or manufacture marijuana, illegal drugs, or other controlled substances while at any activity or event sponsored or endorsed by the Sorority. This includes all Convention programming, conference event rooms, conference guest rooms, and off-site excursion programming.

We are requiring that all attendees, including guests, comply with the following COVID health and safety rules in order to attend Convention. Each sibling and guest must provide proof of one of the following options:

  • Full COVID-19 vaccination - Completed at least 14 days prior to Convention, including at least 1 booster shot.
  • Proof of negative COVID test - The test must be done within 24 hours of check-in and submitted prior to check-in.
  • No sibling or guest will be admitted to Convention without proof of a negative test or full vaccination.

All activities that attendees participate in at this event are done at their own risk and attendees accept full responsibility.

  • This includes damage to hotel facilities, including guest rooms and conference spaces. The hotel has a $150 minimum cleaning fee.
  • The hotel has an indoor pool and jacuzzi. All attendees should take reasonable precautions in and near these water features.

Delegate & Council Travel Policies

Each Chapter Delegate and Council Staff receives a travel stipend, set by the VP of Finance based on flight costs to the Convention location from the airport local to the Chapter or staff.

Delegate and Council registration is due by March 1, 2025. Each must submit a registration form and submit payment (or begin a payment plan) by this deadline.

  • Delegates or Council who register after the deadline will receive reduced travel stipends, in addition to higher travel rates.
  • Delegates and Council must communicate with the VP of Finance and VP of Programming no later than March 1, 2025 about how they plan to spend their travel stipend using the Convention Travel Stipend Form, which will be sent directly to Delegates and Council via email.

Travel stipends can be applied toward a variety of travel methods including airline tickets, bus or train tickets, car rentals, or gas and mileage-based reimbursement.

  • Members are encouraged to consider cost-saving travel methods such as carpooling with Chapter siblings, so that more of the Chapter may attend.
  • The Sorority will pay the full cost of the stipend or the cost of travel, whichever is lower.
  • If the cost of travel is higher than the cost of the stipend, the Delegate or Council will be responsible for coordinating with the VP of Finance to make all travel arrangements through reimbursement or advance.

Delegates or Council who do not use provided travel may be held responsible for any travel costs or cancellation/transfer fees incurred.
